Speedway Sports Bar #1

Turned into a great show, eventually.
The snarling bitch-fight was a fun distraction.
When one of them grabbed a ball off the pool table everyone flipped out.

This club is okay, but the layout frustrates the shit out of me.
I can't put the lights where I want to, and I can't put the speakers where I NEED to.
There's crap everywhere and it's ALL in my way.
The jukebox speakers are right up my ass, and the bartenders are slow sometimes.
Security let us down last show, but were much improved tonight.

They don't pay the going rate for San Antonio's best band.
If it wasn't fairly close to my house I would vote to shitcan the Speedway from our schedule, but you can't argue with a great audience.

Bliss Can Be Bought

If you want a band to rock the crap out of your backyard, just put together a decent combination of free booze, good food and some cash...

Bliss has a lot of fans.
Not too hot, but with fresh rains before we arrived the humidity was lethal.

There was a list of 20 different Jello-Shot flavors, and every little container was numbered so you could pick what you wanted. Or just decide that blue was cool.

Florin's Freak-Out Dance Party.

How did the USA teams cruise to Gold in beach volleyball at the Olympics?
We have sand courts in 37% of our backyards.
It's a dirty little secret.

Hitmen Double-Shot Weekend

Hot Tin Roof

In a shocking surpise move, original Hitmen singer Mike G showed up at the Roof and sang a few songs with Bliss.
The JD Salinger of San Antonio's rock scene has rarely been seen in public for the past 5 years, and it was fitting that this happened in the building that used to be Mama's, where his antics are legendary.

Sea Monkeys @ Speedway

The Sea Monkeys returned to San Antonio for the first time since February and a grand time was had by all. New songs and new faces made the night interesting, and the band wants to thank everyone for their support and love and shots.
It was a kickass crowd.

The new in-ear monitor system is installed, tested and respected.

My long-lost friend Diana suddenly appeared out of the mists of time with this nice Betty Paige that was inked by Kat Von D.

Flo's car got clipped by some jackass pulling into Speedway's lot. It's fixable, and was probably safe enough to get him home after I duct taped the shit out of it.

Return Of The Sea Monkeys

Guadalupe River Club saw history in the making last Saturday with The Sea Monkeys playing their first show since February, featuring new singer Cheetah.

While this band features 80% of BLISS (with a mostly different song list), it's now also 60% of the last great version of The Hitmen.
Sea Monkeys pics will tag along here since I'm not going to start yet another website for a band that only plays once or twice a month.

As Rikk put it: "We're the Sea Monkeys, or the Hitmen, or the Hit Monkeys, or the Sea Men."
Yes, The Semen is where we're going with this joke.

See for yourself Friday August 15th at Speedway on Grissom Rd.
BLISS will be at Hot Tin Roof on Saturday.

Hooligan's Band-Tab Fiasco

We didn't order those shots, and we weren't running a tab, so thanks for eating y'all's screw-up for a change.
